Ouch, certainly looks thirst-quenching.

Any snacks to go with it?

A plate of merguez and frites. It was all French that afternoon, we'd been out to a reef on a tres Jacques Cousteau yellow boat with a glass bottom where they played sections of Jarre's Equinoxe on an eternal loop.

There are worse things in this life.

The Hoegaarden was the size of my silly head.

Not a bad price, but not much into the colour, and besides: where's the nine-string? How are you supposed to play Fucking Champs numbers without a nine-string?

Anyway, after lunch we wandered around to this beach that Katie's sister had discovered behind a deserted hotel complex. Smashed glass, exposed electrics, tatty palm trees - it was like Ballard on toast. While the family enjoyed snokeling around the artificial perimeters of the beach, I found an office chair, or more accurately two broken office chairs which had been put together to make a compound beast and sat looking out to Fort de France listening to Electric Wizard very loud.

Just on the edge of the fuzz guitars you could hear the twin engines of the flying boat which would bring Mr Cornelius to Les Trois Ilets. The palms would somehow get set alight with that flame pistol from Rollerball as I was sending the English Assassin into another ironic martyrdom, both of us slightly disappointed that the resulting scene looked more MTV than New Worlds.

A tasty world.

More MTv than new Worlds..
Not happy tidings for yours truly.
