The Hexagon Centre Bus Station wraps around three sides of the structure. It’s one of those places where you know all of the benches of old from waiting for buses after numerous journeys back from shopping expeditions with family and acquaintances.

Bae leads you around to Zone D, where services towards Waterworks Corner and Quatrefour Retail can be found. It starts to rain outside.

”Well, we’ve got everything we need to get student services to fax us your timetable. We’re on the home straight, kid!” Bae laughs.

”Kid?” You give her a straight look.

”Okay, that wasn’t fair of me,” she says. She lights up a Camel Light. “C’mon let’s have our chariot arrive some time soon.”

”Can you really walk between raindrops?” you ask.

”Where did you hear that?” asks Bae. “Doesn’t matter really. No, no I can’t.” Then she smiles. “I tried once though. I was walking from my house to the local Co-op, and it wasn’t raining very hard, so I just focussed very deeply and, y’know, weaved!”

”That’s cool!” you say.

”Yeah, it got me all of the way to Co-op, but on the way back it was pouring and I got soaked. The weather was just luring me out.”

”Here’s our bus!” you announce.
