Bae switches off the fax machine. “Mission complete!” She inspects you for a moment. “Maybe.” She moves a few jackets and cardigans that are hanging on furniture to reveal a full-length mirror. She inclines it towards you.
You wince a little at the image in the mirror.
“That’s what I guessed,” she says. “I’ve never seen you wearing anything other than that same white shirt and black trousers. Shirt always tucked-in. Don’t get me wrong; they say that Einstein wore the same thing every day.”
“When I left school, I discarded the tie,” you tell her.
”Do you like this style? It’s okay if you do.”
You shrug.
”Let’s try something else on you, yeah?”
