A wise man once said that lunch is the most important lunch of the day, and he might not have been wrong. However, looking at the single fiver in your wallet, and recalling the challenges of the day so far, all of the overcooked options on display are starting to look considerably less appealing.
Mabel, the refectory angel, takes pity on you. “Look at you, you thin wisp of nothing. You should get some meat on your bones, shouldn’t you?” She dishes up the last slice of lasagne from the tray for you. “You take that and don’t you think about paying me, you hear?”
